Did somebody say dinner??? We got an invite to dinner with family... of course we were there! My cousin David Bowen, his wife Rose Ann, son Garrett, daughter Christina, and her two daughters, Kira and Brookelyn are in Bakersfield visiting my parents. Falyn and I drove down and enjoyed the evening with everyone. Oh, and for dessert none other than Poppy's Famous Homemade Banana Ice-Cream YUM-MMMMMMM!
Garrett has accepted a mission call to serve in the Florida Jacksonville Mission Spanish Speaking, he reports to the Provo MTC on August 12, 2009. Last September (2008) Falyn & Garrett were freshman at BYU-I together... It seems like just a few years ago that Falyn and Garrett were playing in the ocean on Waikiki Beach. They were only ten years old... time flies!

July 20, 2009 We spent the weekend in beautiful Monterey, CA. We went to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, and to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. The weather was lovely-sometimes it's good to get away!
Friday July 10th, was my father's 65th Birthday. We drove to Bakersfield for a birthday dinner/party. We were joined by Poppy's sister Jeanie, nephew David, and cousin Chris. We had a nice visit; and Poppy being the candy lover that he is opened not one, but three boxes of See's Candy. I think we all know he has a sweet-tooth!
Happy 4th of July!!! We drove to Lodi, to visit Dad & Sharon for Independence Day. We ate a delicious dinner: Ribs, chicken, potato salad, corn on the cob, green salad, chips, salsa, and ice cream sundaes for dessert- YUM! The weather was a perfect 80 degrees, and the evening was a little cool on the lake. All in all a great weekend!
