Falyn, Amanda, Farah, and ShellyAugust 3, 2010 we attended Amanda & Austin's wedding at the Salt Lake City Temple. The wedding was performed by Elder M. Russell Ballard (Amanda's grandpa). It was a beautiful ceremony which was followed by a luncheon reception at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. Falyn and Amanda have been best friends since they were six years old, naturally Falyn was Amanda's Maid of Honor. Scott was not able to attend the wedding- he was in Virgina attending the National Boy Scout Jamboree.
We spent one week in Utah and enjoyed spending time with family and dear friends. We were treated to a delicious lasagne dinner by Aunt Nancy last Thursday night. We visited with Julie, Brittney, Taylor, Debra, Lisa, John, Amber, and of course Aunt Nancy and Uncle Henry. Friday we stayed with the Murdock family. Stacey treated us to Chicken Parmesan-excellent! Falyn and Amanda stayed up all night watching movies and trying on Amanda's wedding gown. Farah and Douglas have been the best of friends since they were two years old- they stayed up until 3:00 AM watching movies and catching up. Saturday we met our good friends Jackie, Kory, and Ryan Newsom in Brigham City at Maddox Ranch House for lunch- great food, even better company! The Newsom's brought Falyn's things (from her apartment) from Idaho to Utah-they are the nicest friends. It was so good to see them and talk to them in person- not that I don't enjoy talking on the phone, but nothing makes the heart happier than seeing a best friend in person! Sunday we attended church with Mom & Dee, we really enjoyed relaxing and making ourselves at home. Monday we drove back to Salt Lake to visit with Shannon, Charlie and children, and Kelly and children. My good friend Lee Ann Hansen joined us and brought some sinful treats from a no doubt evil bakery! Monday night Aunt Nancy and Uncle Henry hosted dinner and FHE for us, Debra & Shawn, John, Lisa and children, Julie, Butch and children, Sonya and children, Spencer, and Tyrel. What a group! Tuesday was Amanda's beautiful wedding and reception, and on Wednesday Farah and I flew home. What a wonderful week...

Kristen! I can't forget Kristen... I had the most amazing week! My good good friend Kristen Paoli came to my parent's home in Bakersfield Wednesday night to visit and eat dinner. What a week for reunions!
What an amazing week you had. I'm so glad that you got to see so many of our family members, & so many of your friends from the past. Old friends are "golden." You all look so beautiful & happy in all the pictures.
Looks like a great day- weddings usually are!!
Remind to tell you my M. Russell Ballard story next time we see each other - what a fine man!!
Wish I could have been there.
